Wedding at the art museum Painting

This was a commissioned portrait. It is a combination of elements, as the couple wanted the art museum in St. Louis with the fountain to be in the background. I really enjoyed her dress, and this painting is the first time I ever used cobalt violet light. It is a color I wish I could use more often. It really has to be seen to be believed. I don't feel that the color can accurately be printed, even if you were to use spot colors, so prints of paintings using this color will never be exactly right. It is so vibrant, that to me, it felt as if it were out of a dream, that this color should not exist. It just doesn't seem possible. Okay, that sounds a little crazy, but I'd like to get the idea across that this violet is unique. Anyway, I was able to incorporate it into the dress, and some glazes and velaturas in the flesh.
