About The Artwork
Off of the coast of California near Huntington Beach is a nature preserve filled with coastal birds, butterflies and grasses. That wonderful refuge was my inspiration. Grasses are created using lots of texture, color and movement. The wind is blowing through the grasses and flowers sprout from their base. This, of course, brings an abundance of butterflies. I created the butterflies using wood cutouts so they float about the flowers and grasses giving them a 3D dimension. This is one of my favorite pieces and in real life the colors are spectacular. this piece has a wooden light brown frame
