About The Artwork

This painting is a gentle expressionist work with soft shades of blue, peach and antique white to create a calm and serene composition that suggests peace and tranquility. It is a work of comfort and healing as well as a work of art and beauty. While the artwork is soft and gentle there is no specific influence as I usually start my art with choosing colours and size and then just seeing what develops as I put on the paint. I love the soft colours and peacefulness of blues and peach. This artwork would provide a calming influence in many home interiors. "What a peach of a day" is unframed but has d-rings and wire ready to hang. Photos showing framing are indicative only. It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity and will be registered on the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists.

I am an artist based in Brisbane, Australia working primarily in acrylic. As a self-taught artist I enjoy challenging myself and experimenting with different ideas and subject matters exploring the boundless possibilities of this versatile medium. My subject matter varies from expressionist to impressionist to just strange ideas and concepts depending on whatever pops into my head. My influences are mostly from the stunning abstract expressionist works of the mid-20th century which have such a feeling of raw intensity. However I also love abstracted and moody impressionist landscapes and I see no conflict between such diverse styles. While I sometimes use reference photos or materials these really are just a starting point as once I commence painting I tend to forget about them and just get carried away in the painting.
