Founded in 1924. From 1934 began with the repair of musical instruments. And already during the Second World it was engaged in production of road mines for the needs of the front. The war ended and the first domestic tape recorders "Dnepr-2" and "Dnepr-3" rolled off the assembly line. In just 5 years, production volumes have grown to 10 thousand units per year. 20 years later, the factory presented the famous "Маяк" tape recorders, the sound quality of which was not inferior to foreign counterparts. In 1980, the factory launched the first cassette tape recorders. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Mayak lost the competition to Korean tape recorders and was on the verge of bankruptcy. But 5 years ago, history repeated itself. The factory began to produce weapons again.
