Calcutta (currently Kolkata), is popularly claimed to be the "City of Joy"...possibly because of the calmness, slowness in life over there. As many say, joy is in being engaged to what you do. When I visited this place, I felt the laziness in the air. Over time, I felt that it was just their commitment towards the work, which keeps them happy and going.. Calcutta was under the colonial rule for a long time and hence, shows perfect etiquette within social territories. Unique about Calcutta..local ponds, Durga puja, fight for communism, and many mysterious old heritage that plot across this ages old settlement..the layer of mystery inspired me the most to capture this city within my canvas..
