About The Artwork

The two women are priestesses of the ancient cult of the moon and the sea, guarding the secrets of the ages. They are Sybil and Thalassa, descendants of the ancient race of the Nereids, the nymphs of the sea. They stand on the edge of the world, where the sky and the water touch, creating a portal to another dimension. Their hands are clasped behind their back, signifying a pact of loyalty and silence. Their faces hidden because hey are not mere mortals but divine beings, endowed with powers and knowledge beyond human comprehension. They guard their faces as they guard their secrets, revealing them only when the time is right and the stars align. They look into the ocean, where the secrets of their cult are buried, waiting for the prophecy to be fulfilled.
