White Lies Painting

The work speaks about the lies that society most often does not recognize. There is a point when life has become more of an anomaly than a relief- an unfortunate, impossible promise of infinite bliss and contentment. We fraud ourselves by believing there’s a pattern to life, that there are paths we need to walk- spend our waking hours understanding the incomprehensible. I want the viewers to know that the world is full of artificial beauty and false positivity and that to survive, we need to acknowledge the lies and tragedy the world beholds. I chose acrylic as my medium as it is my principal medium as an artist, and then I used markers for several minute details. I chose the subject of White Lies as it struck differently how artificial beauty and false positivity have changed our behaviour and understanding. We think there's a good side to it, but there is none.
