About The Artwork
The White Sands in New Mexico inspired this work. There’s a time right before the southwest sky turns to night, where everything in shade turns purple. Everything in the sun turns pink. It’s truly my favorite place on Earth. Using watercolor and ink helps me use organic processes like drying of water, with the stark outline of pen to highlight how the pigment settles.
