About The Artwork

Helga's colorful painting shows us an enchanting landscape in which a young child goes on a journey of discovery. This scene with a small curious boy in a wooded environment with unreal colors such as light pink tones for leaves, cobalt blue grasses, and dark mysterious corners is a source of reflection and introspection. It reminds us that safety is important, but that adventure and growth are also essential for our development. It invites us to be courageous and overcome our fears, while at the same time following our intuition and trusting our inner compass. This artwork raises questions about the choices we make in our lives. Should we stay safely on the beaten path or dare to explore the unknown? Is the big bad wolf a real danger or just an unfamiliar challenge? The painting invites us to reflect on our fears and desires, and to consciously choose which path we want to take. The painting is made on a cotton canvas, stretched on a wooden frame. Ready to hang. The artwork is painted with high pigmented professional acrylic paint and finished with a varnish layer.

‘I love distorting realism with unusual colour combinations. Hinting at familiarity but leaving scope for imagination.’ Helga Renders was born in 1968 in Beerse, Belgium. She lives and works in Herentals. As a Self-taught painter she brings a fragile sensitivity and melancholy in her realistic work. Her art is expressive, combined with an inner strength. She expresses herself using colours and light to create an other dimension of reality. Prize winner of the big Atelier competition, Alkmaar, The Netherlands November/December 2018 First prize July/August 2018 Nominated Honorable Mention Award in the “4th Water” art competition, Teravarna Art Gallery 2023
