Wilhelm II and Falcon Painting

This is a large, very detailed and elaborate painting-drawing-collage with elements of encaustic work, on heavy watercolor paper, which evolved over the course of a year. A king appeared, acquired a falcon; the uniform I chose was that of Kaiser Wilhelm II, which then informed the development of the rest of the picture. A fairly deranged king stands in an open landscape with a bird, a running horse, and another figure. The marks go from very heavy and dense on the right to light and airy on the left.
