About The Artwork

An open mind + and open heart = a possibility for art. Art is a statement, connecting two people; the artist and the viewer. My Art deals with the social pressure that meets certain physical standards. Women are constantly depicted as model-like figures in the media. Yet the women I paint reveal inner beauty, or at least the importance of looking beyond externals. To each person, beauty has a meaning, however to me true beauty is within a person's soul; "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." In many societies women are becoming liberated, so it's sad to find them enslaving themselves by just being viewed as beautiful bodies. Beauty should be viewed as emotional as much as physical. Ones bodily features are what characterize their own family traits. One should embrace that and expect others to accept it. Because simply it's one's identity, and it sure is about time to be proud of it. I believe that physical appearance is just a mask that hides what's truly within, whether good or bad. Today's women are turning themselves into fake Cleopatras, Betty Boops, Hend Rostoms, Soad Hosnys, Marilyn Monroes, Nadia Lotfys, Brigitte Bardos, Rachel Weiszs, Madonnas, Kate Beckinsales, Elizabeth Taylors, Sophia Lorens, Eva Longoria Parkers, Jennifer Connelys, and Barbie dolls and why is that? The answer remains unanswered. Indeed, the route to that goes far back as the creation of Adam and Eve. Women have always been obsessed about their beauty. Even Ancient Egyptian women wore make up. While simply character, attitude, beliefs and one's opinion in life are what make an individual unique, different, attractive and a creature like no other. I believe that flexibility is very important to an artist, as for my own personal style, I try to express the internal feelings of the people I paint because inner feelings are more important than ones superficial looks. Art is a true gratification for me. I love everything really. I like big ideas and shaking the viewer. To me Art is a place to dance in colors, a place to be as free as the wind. Art is honest. Words can easily be twisted, images far less so. Art can express the inexpressible. Art seems to make our weaknesses into strengths. Art is a place that bonds one with the universe, earth and all its creatures and nature. I am grateful of Art. Practicing in some form of creative process on a regular basis is something I sense as a basic need. Art is a place to love innocently, a place to feel the magic, a place to hurt in peace. Tom Robbins once said, "In the haunted house of life, ART is the only stair that doesn't creek. Oil pastel on paper Framed Ready to hang Black red beige white cream brown Expressionism Modern
