ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My friend Pete recently agreed to come and fix the leaking felt roof over the lean-to where I paint. Whilst he was up there in his paint-spattered overalls I saw that he was throwing some interesting shapes, rendered especially intense by the clear July sky. I found my camera and snapped away as he splashed pitch over the gaps between the sheets of felt – this is one of the results. Mounted in a matt black wooden tray frame. 65 × 85 × 2 cm (framed) / 60 × 80 × 1 cm (unframed).
