About The Artwork
I am riveted by the ancient portrait fragment of a royal queen. I use this image often as a beautiful icon anchoring my paintings. The lotus is one of the oldest plants in existence. It is no wonder that cultures around the world use it symbolically. I have carefully designed a number of lotus’ after studying lotus imagery from Ancient Egypt and I love the symmetry of a lotus to show both harmony and the quest for the spiritual.
