About The Artwork
We want our children to feel safe and loved. So we wrap them up in our arms, hugging tightly. Our hope is that we can squeeze as much love into them as we can. This way our love will shine so brightly that our children always feel wrapped up and protected - wrapped up in love. This was a collaborative design co-created with my son. We talked about how art can create a calming effect on one. During the discussion, we shared how love can get us through some really dark moments in our lives. As a parent, I want nothing more than my son to always know how much he is loved. When I hug him, I want him to feel my love and keep it with him wherever he goes. The design for this piece is simple and demonstrates how as a parent we want so much for our children to shine brightly and be forever safe in our arms, no matter how big or "grown-up" they become.

My passion for art began at my grandparent's kitchen table many years ago. Together with my grandfather, we would draw pictures with crayons and markers of the world around us and characters that expressed how we felt. Today, I have traded my crayons for paintbrushes. When I am not painting, I work with elementary students, sharing my passion for art with tomorrow's future leaders (and buyers of art!). Although my grandparent's kitchen table now is the center piece in my own kitchen, I have never forgotten the importance of expressing one's ideas and the intimate connection we make when creating and viewing art. Art truly is not to be 'understood' per say, but rather experienced with our minds, our hearts and our souls.
