About The Artwork
'Writing a letter to God' is a self portrait of myself in my house. Though it is important to note that I was simply the easiest model to find, so isn't necessarily a confessional piece. I tried to depict a person who is attempting to communicate with 'an other'. The 'other' being God or whoever. I wanted to show someone who is going against the conventional method of via a priest etc. Regarding the style of the piece, I wanted to convey an eerie empty vista but colourful, warm and engaging too. My hope is also that people choose their own variation on this narrative I've constructed here.
