There are two sister paintings that go together. This is one of them. They can be bought together or separately. Together they are 12x24 inches, side by side. This abstract painting is full of detail and movement. Painted in shades of blue/green, blue/purple, citrus green, magenta, midnight blue, and heavy cream. It has some light texture on the surface from the painting process. Created with many layers with a light splatter of paint for a modern look. Image from the front is painted over the edge for a seamless look. Signed front and back, varnished with a satin varnish to protect from dust and UV rays. Ships flat, ready to hang.

I'm an abstract artist living in Canada. I grew up with a keen interest in the arts and pursued many avenues of study including sketching, drawing, painting, figure drawing, colour theory, costume design, and art history. I work primarily in acrylics, but sometimes add some mixed media into my pieces. I generally start with colour and go from there. I enjoy the process of putting paint on the canvas to see what happens. I'm a great believer in altering the surface with interesting marks as I add and subtract layers of paint until something shifts into place. Joan Mitchell and Mark Rothko have been most influential in my work. Every mark, every colour speaks to me in an emotional way. And that's what I love about abstract art.
