About The Artwork

WTF - 09 is really inspired by the earlier part of the WTF series. If you look at the earlier pieces, you'll see that there is always a few new ideas and styles that evolve or morph from one to the next, but certain parts are retained throughout the whole WTF series. So I supose it was just me trying to modify and improve on the earlier pieces and to come up with a few new ideas in order to avoid the danger of stagnation. I love to try new things, and of course sometimes they don't work, but that's OK, I try to see if a design works OK, and if it doesn't I go back and have another think for a day or two and then usually see a better possibility for the design. It's as if one's brain is working on the design at a subconscious level and suddenly one's subconscious shoots up a new idea into the conscious mind and one then becomes aware of the new idea That's the Eureka moment I want the viewer to take note that this style of painting and sculpture is a rather unique style that one has never seen before. I came up with the idea when I was about 19 years old during the time I went to Art College in Liverpool I remember I took a work of mine into the huge factory were I worked and hung it on the wall and hundreds came to look at it from all over the factory. That was in Dunlops Tyre factory where they employed about 5,000 people I loved the fact that so many came to look. Many laughed and said it was rubbish, but some loved it. I wish I had that painting now. But that was 50 years ago and I don't live in England I live in Thailand with my family. I've not been back to the UK for ten years I chose the medium and style in order to produce a 3D type picture that you can hang on the wall. And of course one has to be unique and easily identifiable. I learn't at art college that although I'm good at drawing there are others who're better than me. They can draw a bicycle wheel with all the spokes and the tread on the tyre much better than I could However I want to convey an impression of beauty and style that the view will enjoy looking at every day. My designs change with the light in a room. They alter as you walk past them, they glint in the light. I love em, and I hope you do to Kind regards ......... Your friend ..... Chris

I was born in the very beautiful town called Llandudno in North Wales. It's just across the Conway River were stands a huge 1,000 year old Norman Castle. The scenery is spectacular to say the least I grew up in Liverpool and worked there in engineering as a teenager and young man. I then moved to The Wirral and lived there for over ten years About 16 years ago I bought an incredible apartment here in Thailand and started a family. I now have two children aged nine and eleven. We have a big UK style bar restaurant here where everyone goes to socialise. There's lots of guys who work in the oil and gas industry. They're clever, witty and sociable. This is a very laid back fun lifestyle. Oh, and there's quite a few ex military guys. Oh and of course one or two gangsters. And that's just the expats. I'm retired, so I have lots of spare time, but now I've started painting again and that's been a labour of love. I don't take myself too seriously, and like to think I've a good sense of humour, and I hope that's reflected in my paintings. I do hope you like them, and then want to buy them ! Do leave a comment please. Something like "brilliant or superb" .... I'll be very happy with that !
