This scene is loaded with interpretations but I tried to portray it neutrally."Yard Sale, Fourth of July" is painted on three primed hollow core door panels with professional grade artist acrylics. The photos show how it is hung with a simple wood French cleat system. Please excuse the studio photos. (The dog is not for sale!) This painting needs a nice home with elbow room. Close up photos show how intentionally "messy" the paint is with colored drips from other areas of the painting falling on adjacent areas. From a distance the image reads quite tight but up close it's very painterly. Each panel is 80" high by 36" wide for a total of 80" high by 108" wide. The artist can personally deliver and hang the painting within a day's trip of Dartmouth, Massachusetts for the cost of a rental van and related expenses. More photos are available.

I'm painting my back yard and the world beyond. Familiar, everyday sights that may only get a peripheral, passing glimpse. In-the-moment scenes… a yard sale, a backyard tree house, or a new house foundation under construction and filled with potential. Signs of prior lives… a centuries old, crumbling foundation who's long gone owner held that same potential as today’s builder, a cemetery reclaimed by the woods. Trying to guide the viewer to think in a deeper way, to realize our connection to each other, our environment, our past, and our future. Also re-connecting with an abstract, color-field series from the early 2000's, with inspiration drawn from land and sky and the abstract expressionist movement. In between all that, plein air painting when I can. Nothing beats painting from life. Born and raised in Vermont, currently living in Massachusetts.
