About The Artwork
It's always a story of encounter. I lived and studied in Japan and walked in various places. One of those recurring places was the playgrounds with slides. The times I went there were no children. And the slides were always the same, wherever they were, except this one. It gave me a special feeling. I see objects like people, which is why I speak of meeting, even with an object. It's like falling in love. I took a picture of it. Then I painted it with my usual tools: big brushes in oil on canvas. Starting from a specific subject, I try to make it universal.
