Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Household, Gesso, Environmental on Canvas, Other.

This piece is part of a larger series that I started back in 2006. They were inspired by a dream which featured a large printing press and the story of the tower of Babel. The numbers are used as symbols of knowledge and control, and are hand cut out of the canvas to both extend the picture plane out into space, and to obscure and erase whatever knowledge is associated with them.
