censored paintings/ veneer as index/ stack, 21 Painting

My artwork is a process of accumulation and reduction that happens over a significant period of time (this series of paintings is now at nine years). The wood panels often have multiple complete compositions that are intentionally repainted/ peeled/ erased/ censored until the final work is revealed. The work is about image, form, content, thought/ objects, structure, arms, legs, shapes of thighs, mouths, teeth, paint/ textile/ texture/ touch. This painting is part of a grouping of censored paintings/ veneer as index/ stack hung in a grid at the exhibition everything squiggles, curated by Mardee Goff- used as an example of installation, sizes of panels and materials. Each panel has a keynote on the top and side for hanging the work either landscape or portrait. This painting has a strip of my textile as a collage element.
