classical guilty conscience Painting

i painted this when i was reading Nietzsche, the feeling i wanted to convey was one common to all i think: we judge too much ourselves, we think we're better than something forgetting we're humans and we can t have the control on which feelings and emotions feel. it's our limiting part, that often block us from being ourselves. In my case, i think i needed it for a bit of control, at least on that part of life where we can try to have it, but then it took advantage on the instinct depriving me of naturalness and spontaneity which for me is much worse. i choose this ancient greek figure because i was fascinated by their culture and their rational way of thinking as fathers of our western culture, a culture of control which was capable of incredible and horrible things. however the figure is going on trying to find a balance.
