About The Artwork

The painting "golden city" was created from December 22 to January 23 as a follow-up and further development of the work "big city light". The painting largely defined the colour palette of the subsequent works, which were also created in winter 22/23. The artist has retained the elaborate, glazing technique developed in the previous painting. In this work, the artist experimented with the insertion of cardboard elements and shadows were also added to enhance the 3D effect. This results in an interesting interplay between the incidence of light, painted and natural shadows on the cardboard. This work also demonstrates the search for a balance between static forms and dynamic, flowing elements. How much static can a picture tolerate without seeming static throughout? How much dynamism is necessary to absorb the static that manifests itself in the picture? The painting is signed at the front (bottom right corner), not varnished and stretched on a wooden frame.

intuitive, self-taught, abstract-experimental, expressive artist born 1984 in Germany based now in Agios Stefanos, Kerkyra, Greece painting since autumn 2016, mainly with acrylic colours, creating colour- and powerful paintings To paint and create art - so I follow the call of my heart. All my artworks are created intuitively without pre-drawing or reherasal, because in my experience the energy of the first image is the most intense. I let the painting develop itself, I am not fixed on one style - I paint and create as the current artwork requires. Nature inspires me as well as what I have experienced, seen, felt, thought and meditated on. The focus of my artistic work is about the themes "power" and "energy" as well as the power, the effect and the interplay of colours. Since some time I deal in my paintings with the combination of dynamic and static elements - exploring the question how much dynamic is nessecary to keep the painting vively and how much static is possible before the painting is in itself static. My goal is to captivate viewers through the effectof the artworks and to create a resonance to the paintings in them. Driven by the idea that in simplicity there is much power, truth and clarity, I refer to simplicity stylistically. In my opinion this is the key to keep on one side my work tangible and on the other to give viewers enough space to find their own access to my artworks.
