About The Artwork

The painting is one of a series of bold and colorful paintings. The title green comes from the overall hues that the picture incorporates. It does not mean anything, and the use of green is incidental. There was no plan to paint it, no strategy, and it was not meant to be displayed anywhere. I had a rare moment of not being practical, of not having to earn money and not thinking about my future success or failure. I had a piece of masonite and same colors, the painting evolved from there. Independent paint strokes are floating in space. They are particles of light colliding with other particles.

Creating images is my way of life, which always goes back to canvas and freedom to paint “in-between thoughts.” Painting “in-between thoughts” is the process of creation when I feel connected to the universal, one with paint, brushes, and canvas. It is a process in which time and space cease to exist; it is the feeling of perfect harmony, of being in touch with the mysterious and unexplained, in contact with archetypes of my humanity. This process overrides the importance of the theme, a way of depiction, or the meaning of my paintings. It is a process of recreation, rather than imitation, of the reality that I perceive. In other words, I paint what I see and feel, and I see and feel what I paint, and thus, each of my paintings reflects both my subjective perception and my reaction to it; it is both being created and is a creator, and what I see when I put away a brush mystifies me. Painting is my way of communication by unraveling my search for “true self” and inviting the viewer to experience the universal. However, if somebody chooses to ignore the invitation, he/she can always perceive the craft and appreciate it or not. These decisions I leave for the beholder and his/her eye.
