About The Artwork
Painting: Acrylic on Canvas. This started out as an abstract painting with shades of grey and evolved into a landscape of the beaches of Los Angeles. I wanted to contrast the beauty of the ocean with chaotic backdrop of the city. The sky leaves an impression of a hellish landscape from air pollution and burning wildfires. This acrylic painting was created with various brushes, sponges, and pallet knives. The ocean water has a slightly thicker finish texture in a wave pattern and high gloss. There is a satin finish for the sand and skyline, with a combination of satin and high gloss for highlights in the buildings.
