About The Artwork
Oil on a wood panel . One of my first paintings made after visiting the van Gogh museum for five days in a row .The kitchen of my house in Amsterdam where we shared water and power with the neighbors . The plastic watertube run over an alley and was often frosen in wintertime . Wood kept us warm since we had no gas-heating .First the collecting ,then the cutting and finally the burning ,wood was our triple source heating ,and the stove my biggest friend , when moving to a new renovated appartment I had to leave it behind which was real sad to do .
