Luigi Cau, stage name Gigi Cau, was born in Sassari the 16 April 1956 and lives and works in Sassari, (Phone Mobile +39 3407875049).rnSince he was a boy he was attracted by drawing and painting. In 1993, influenced by looking a Klimts canvas, he felt at first the need to collect works of art and, on the way, to express his hidden emotions through painting. Now he wants the public enjoy too these vibrant emotions seeing his paintings.rn

The art of Gigi Cau, a young Sardinian artist, is identified as realitys emotional and spiritual experience, and is particularly characterized by a strong chromatic accentuation and an incisive sign.
The artist, as a man, wants to express his subjective world in shapes and colours, using a light bodies deformation of and a tones exasperation.
The representations look very suggestive and rich of content, assuming a symbolic nature: for example, theres a constant presence of coloured faces, painted with imagination from a graphic and colour point of view, that is an unmistakable mark in Gigi Caus art and defines his exclusive character and style.
Moreover, theres a certain expressive dramatic power, underlined by an expressive intensity that Gigi Cau communicates according to his creativity, hoping that people will ever remember him and always distinguish his art.
In figurative area Expressionism had its premises in E. Munch, J. Ensor, V. Van Gogh and P. Gauguins painting; the artistic movement was linked to German tradition that had produced Sturm und Drangs Romanticism.
The work is completed by a brushs forceful touch, with a dominant and vivid colour, that follows graphic movement and reveals our artists feelings; this man is always ready to welcome new emotions and creative inventions.
