To whom this thought is unfamiliar, to abandon the traveled path in favor of walking a road unmarked and unknown? Works of art, the products of human imagination in general, create maps that humanity has always used to try and grasp that which always seems to be one step ahead. A mathematician, having a wealth of knowledge in a narrow discipline, working for long enough time, sooner or later, will encounter a singularity. /A singularity is defined as a / This compels them to search. Often a new way is found in the process. Singularities are but doorways to entire new realities. Regardless of the media one uses or one’s sphere of interests and references, the imagination is always the framework for art to actualize, everything else is accidental. It resonates with every other aspect of one’s life. Knowledge without imagination is merely information. Without imagination one can attain knowledge but not understanding. A painting gives an access to an illusory friction, a possible gateway in the fabric of reality that can be “gazed” or even, perhaps, “walked through”.

“I am delighted by this exhibition. It displays a rare sense of beauty, the drama of the world and man's place in it. The paintings are technically bold and highly accomplished (...). It's a very pleasant surprise for me that something like this Is So close. There's a huge sense of drama and tension in the work and a great question mark regarding human existence. Also, a very dynamic organisation of space ... the images are superb" Prof. Andrzej Strumiłło about „The desert” project Aleksandra Batura (b.1982) a Warsaw based artist and mother of two sons.
