Alejandro Quiroga (1967), works and builds his story based on the territory and its route. Speaking in different means and discipline, has tried to show a visual field where the contemporary takes on history and politics in their natural habitat transformation. The analysis of progress and development of different forms of colonization of the environment happens through the uprising of a visual system that domesticates to the point it makes it a decoration. How does the human dwell on a visual stand point fueled by photography, popular culture, rock music, film and art history? "Mental landscapes", continues the series of landscape and territory that develops after the transfer or movement. Kinetic landscapes, landscapes that moved, thought after seeing photographed, and rethought from kilometers away. The power of the movement in the mental construction of a story, of a reality that allows to project ourselves without being present. These landscapes correspond to all those places that are not visited, those in-between, between our home and the destination. "Mental landscape", talks about the story, what you see, and what was seen. Talks about the applied thinking as a selective filter that conforms our territorial memory which builds an own reality of realities and imaginary realities. The work rises from a cluster of visual references from photography that allows us a closeness that reveals the distance. We speak about "image melancholy". We've been in so many places that only oblivions imperfection allows us to put our memories together so they look like a real place. We see a field passing by. We walked through a forest and came to a clear between the trees where a house stands. It is a new place, it is an old place: we do not know it but we recognize it. A visual experience where memory and projection are equivalent.
