ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My inspiration for this work was Stonehenge in Wiltshire UK- even though no steps are present at the site. I hope the viewer will imagine how one might approach the monument if one lived at the time of its construction. Like cathedrals the scale induces awe and wonder.

I am a retired dentist, born in 1956 in a very remote village called Manoharpur, India. My parents of Portuguese catholic, German jewish, Indian and French heritage moved with five of my seven siblings to the UK in 1958 after partition. I live in Bristol, England. In spite of having no formal training I decided to paint in 1998 at the age of 42, as a diversion and release from the stresses of work. My main inspiration is science.
