http://szabolcsbatorfi-art.blog.hu/ AN INTERSECTION OF AN ARTIST written by: Longmusicproduction /ON SZABOLCS BÁTORFI'S EXHIBITION/ Obsession: Psychology indicates that this is one of the anxiety-obsessive-compulsive personality disorders that makes an individual to surrender to an idea, a passion so powerful that the person's thoughts and actions are always about to this very thing. Society also calls them "lunatic" and "crazy", but both separate obsession from dedication and passion in which features related to manic action can be still recognized. Well, Szabolcs Bátorfi does not separate them. For him, the creative process entails obsession with it, and his fascination about art flames up his passion to create. And, as an obsessed artist who is addicted to his own game – even if he is clinging to his workaholism, people or some kind of objects – he builds new dimensions of art, and then closes himself into them in order to exist timelessly. Why do I know that there hides an amount of obsession of this kind in everyone? Because he has already he showed it. He launched the line on a sticky note, wrapped up, twisting, sometimes articulate it by shapes, to slowly fill the paper, stitching pretty near into a pattern. Meanwhile, I also started playing with another note. At the same time, I remembered that when I usually make this doodle amusingly during a daily phone call, I "flavor" the edge of the notes so much that it is ultimately become unknown what was the main character of my page. Indeed, it is cannot be stopped. You can do it consciously or instinctively, you can make sense of it as if you were drawing a labyrinth in which you are looking for the end of Ariadne's thread – the process the game itself. There is almost no limit; the color, the size, the medium, they do not matter; the surface is just representative, the adrenaline-heated state counts only when the artist grabs the tool to give birth to something, anything, at that very place and moment. Breaking the rules, he paints himself into an unconscious state of mind with nearly childish instinct in order to bring himself around and gazing into a different reality of an almost finished work, which he then creates into a whole artwork by a breath of consciousness. So this is Szabolcs's creative mania that arranges everyday life into geometric shapes where there is a curvy line that meander further and further...
