Layered painting in ink on an oval-shaped MDF panel. Inspired by the beauty of the wonderful Lake District. Painted as an extension of my ink experiments, I wanted to see how it behaved on sized wood. The base colour is a soft pink and the ink has (true to form) shifted from deep black to grey-blue with subtle metallic copper hints. As previously mentioned, this is part of a series experimenting with ink and its application on various surfaces and as such, it has various speckles and textures. The painting has been sealed with a layer of matte varnish to protect it. The edges are neatly painted but retain their MDF roughness. Signed and dated on the back, the piece is also strung with picture cord, ready to hang.
