About The Artwork

An illustration depicting Battersea Power Station reflected in the River Thames. The central colour and watercolour texture of the illustration relates to the fact that the building is the largest brick building in Europe. The four chimneys are highlighted to focus on the most recognisable features of the building. The view of the building and reflection in the Thames refers to the Art Deco principle of symmetry. A framed copy of the illustration was displayed and sold at the Battersea Art Centre.

I am a member of the Association of Illustrators and I have had my artwork exhibited in London and published in their annual illustration source books. A selection of my illustrations won a runner-up prize for The Creative Quarterly 37 and 38 competitions. My illustrations are influenced by my interest in classical and non-classical mythology, natural history, early British history, horror and crime movies and literature, and music including heavy and progressive metal. I was commissioned by GQ magazine to illustrate an article for the film ‘The Road’.
