About The Artwork
All the animals in ancient times had a mystical meaning for their people, they were loved and respected according to each culture. In ancient Japan the tiger was the emblem of the great warriors famously known as the samurai. The tiger represents the virtue of courage. During the period in which I worked in this project, my country of origin was going through one of the hardest moments within what its government lives today, the rise to the streets by the youth against a government of repressions, corruption and murders. Many of these young people lost their lives because of this tireless struggle that until now continues without resolution. I dedicated my “Brave Warrior” to these warriors who gave their lives for this cause, for their country and for their people. They symbolize this tiger, full of courage, fury, virtue and honor. they were and will always be brave warriors. The look of the tiger is a look of so much impotence towards the cruelty of a government towards its inhabitants. That is why he is full of courage to undertake his task and go out and fight tirelessly for them. The circles in my work represent the cycles that start and end, like this one that will end when its time comes. I used very bright and striking tones that together with the vibrant colors and the tridimensional figures make of my work a game of perceptions that satisfy the spectator. My paintings are a brainstorm of my own inspiration, a new form of liberty. "Colors and Nature have profound spiritual meanings that can greatly affect our vibrations". Because I come from a tropical climate, my paintings are nature and jungle, full of color and decorative art, modern, and enthusiastic that possess a joyful Caribbean touch with the prosperity of contrast and harmony. I combine graphics with abstraction and figurative images along with robust and intense tones. I transform the ordinary into a creative vision with original abstractions. One way or another my roots are revealed in my work. My interest in painting is my way to express and exhaust my feelings through a creative impulse to fulfill an immense inner need. The process of conveying something new into being, something that did not exist before, an idea. Painting suggests that the act of creating is a biological need that is essential to human nature. I considers art as a gateway to the world of knowledge and cultures around us. "Through art, we can modify our concepts and perceptions". My work has taken me to search for new experiences, which are the motivation of my creations. I am always looking for challenges to conceptualize my thoughts within the spontaneous nature of my inside world like “new images in a new world of possibilities” …
