About The Artwork

This is one of the works comprising the series "365". It was a project where I painted one work every day for the length of one year, May 2012 to May 2013. No restriction was made regarding style, technique or subject matter. It was a kind of visual yearly diary, or a way to put into practice the quote attributed to the ancient painter Apelles: Not a day without a line! This particular painting is the work for the 365th day, the last one of the project. Altghouh a still life with a chess board, it may also carry some symbolism, being the last work in a series and thus posing the question: "what next". By painting a game of chess as the last piece of the series, brings us to mind a famous scene in Bergman's film, The seventh Seal, where Death plays a game of chess with a Knight. It is an acrylic painting on wood. Framed with a black mettalic narrow box type frame. A cerificate is provided with the work.
