About The Artwork
Heavily textured with linework to conjure a densely built environment. A longish potrait format to mimic traditional chinese landscape painting but in this case the natural landscape is overtaken by construction. Displacement addresses the rapid rate of urbanisation at the expense of interferring with the natural environment. It is a call to build and progress mindfully with sthe purpose of sustainability. If you are drawn to semi abstraction in architecture with a modernist twist, this painting addresses all if not almost all these qualities.
