"I mailed it in the air" is a blues lyric from a song recorded in the 20s by Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers. It's a favourite of mine and was playing on my record player while I was painting this piece. "I wrote a letter, I mailed it in the air, So you know by that I have a friend somewhere".

I was born in 1948 in Balham, S.London.I was a lecturer in FE from 1978 - 2008; now I'm a full-time artist.
I do acrylics, watercolour and oil pastel on heavy duty watercolour paper and canvas and use rollers,scrapers and scissors to get textures.
