As long as I remember, my Father used to make origami crane for us whenever he had a rare time to sit with kids at a table to play with craft works. And so, I associate this shape with happy memories of my childhood and also of some recent times. Last summer, during two days of preparations for my sister's wedding, he made a mountain of cranes, one for each wedding guest with one's name on it.
First of "Origami" series was single crane, than a boat.
After those two I got an apetite for more play with origami shapes and limited color palette. Origami Seal is first fully minimalistic one - no dots, no dashes. It is an experiment resulting from my recent discussions about minimalism with my closest friends fellow-artists.

Oil + schlagmetal-silver + glossy varnish on HDF and wooden canvas. HDF and wood visible on a side. Artwork should not be framed, unless it's really delicate and non-invasive - open form and visible structure is a part of design.

Small technical flaws are welcome in my works, as matherial perfection I leave to manufacturing. You can see joints and nail's heads, as well and as uneven surface and sometimes gaps in schlagmetal leaves. It does not disturb the harmony of the whole object however, and I see it as a additional value of my personal touch.

Most of the highly celebrated art is about discovering new or commenting on current pressing matters, but my art is about simple everyday willingness to live. I paint because this gives me purpose and joy – it’s like humming nice song for a hundredth time, even thou there were many covers before; preparing favorite drink for a friend and myself, to enjoy it again in a new glass perhaps; dressing up for no occasion, just to look and feel good; caressing a lover… I wish it was the same for recipients of my art – everyday pleasure in experiencing it. Like a book that you red many times, yet you still reach for it; dish that you always order in that place that is there forever... Repeatable, often classic topics; favorite color palette; small and big things that makes us want to live, even thou world can be such an ugly place. I want my art to make it better - even for a moment, even in a tiny way. I want it to remind myself and others that it's worth to try everyday...
