the artwork is inspired by the observed state of mind of the black race,who though no longer in chains nor colonized are still yet to find true freedom,particularly freedom of the mind.Thus we continue to bear heavy burdens and stagnated progress which can all be relieved if we only achieved,a true state of a free,liberated and inspired mind and being. This work is done in a figurative style,in nude to express the self inflicted pain and hardships brought about by closed minds,here is a race free,but not yet really free. the painting is executed on canvas using oil paint and marker.In this work,i intend to challenge the viewer to free their minds and escape from the prisons within to achieve self actualization,regardless of the race you belong or identify with.
