About The Artwork

This is artwork from the movie “The gift to Stalin”, where I was a costume designer. This is an image of a shaman, in Central Asia they called «baksy». According to the film «The gift to Stalin» a shaman saved a Jewish boy’s life and gave him a new name “Sabyr” – that mean patient. She wished he become patient in the steppe and to be patient to the blows of fate. The image of Shaman is woven from elementals, likes her suit. The fur, feather, stones, bark of trees. The owl is the symbol of wisdom. Her eyes are closed, she looks right into.

Successful art director in the past. But the most favourite part of Riya's work is painting. Her artworks are held in private collection in the UK, USA, Europe, Korea, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. Her paintings and graphics are associative thinking. There is always female view of life. Her images are sometimes illusionary, contemplative and sometimes images transform to rigit forms. Just like Riya herself - gentle and easy at first glance and at the same time she is very strong personality with clear targets and priorities.
