About The Artwork
One of the famous stories told by Hans Christian Andersen, "The Shadow", served as the background for this mixed media painting. It shows the crucial moment when the man finds that he is able to will his own shadow to enter a house lacking a front door. Of course the story does not end well for the man. The shadow keeps growing stronger until it finally overcomes its previous owner in a fight for the hand of a lady.
