About The Artwork

By the loose movement of my wrist support by music, I trace a trail on the paper overcoming some obstacles... An instinct, a song, a road to some types of lights.

Born March 9, 1992 in Draguignan (France), Quentin moved in 2008 to Nancy after having lived in the Grenoble region for ten years (1998/2008). It was there, from 2009, that he got his start in the street (stencils, collages, graffiti ...) inspired by pop-art, street art and rock culture. During his MANAA at the school of Condé Nancy (France 2011/2012) and his three years at the National School of Arts of Nancy (2012/2013), he began to move slowly towards abstraction while transcribing this urban expression on workshop supports. Arrived in Lyon in 2015 he immersed himself in an expressive and symbolic abstraction. He seeks in his painting a material and a light working very instinctively by the gesture, in the moment, always driven by music. Writing also, he tries to find this gesture of writing (abstract or concrete) on his paintings. He seeks, through matter and painting, to discover different types of lights, compositions ... After having exhibited solo at WUD & IRON (Lyon 2 France) in 2O16, at Cave Saint-Charles (Lyon 8 France) in 2016/2017, at Le Rocroy hotel (Paris 10 France) in 2017, at Patchwork Café (Lyon 7 France) in 2017, at the city hall of Lyon 9 in 2018, at SOFFFA Guillotière (Lyon 7 France), at CALM Sathonay (Lyon 1 France) and at the triennial of Contemporary Arts in Bourges (France) in 2019, he moved to the CARTEL (Lyon 3 France) in a studio in October 2019. He traveled across South America (Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru) from december 2017 to june 2018.
