About The Artwork
Part 1 of a diptych on racial profiling, characters that had an influence on me in my youth. I think it will probably enflame some pc types, but it was painted while I lived in Andalucia in 2005, when Black people were all Africanos and Asian people all Chinos. It may have been painted after Denise a British caribbean friend visited me in Malaga and a 60 year old Spanish woman took offence to Denise taking off her slippers and placing her bare feet on her own suitcase, I took offence to the woman taking offence and promptly showed the offended woman off the bus.

I live in Marrakech, I am an autodidact, I am currently learning arabic and Darija (moroccan arabic). Before Morocco I lived in Spain and taught myself Spanish. I do not believe that a meaningful life should be easy, I like a challenge, learning Darija and running the family 'business' has been my greatest challenge so far. I left the U.K. when I was 24, I have travelled through a bit of Europe and now hopefully Africa. As a child I was diagnosed with dyslexia, which was first noticed when I was to take part in a school play where all the other children in my class had lines to learn, I had a noise to make, later my child psychoanalyst would state that my first language had been a visual language.
