Giclèe print with Archival Pigment Along the coast of the islands that divide the Adriatic sea from the lagoon of Venice you can find temporary shelters built on the beach, collecting materials brought ashore from the sea and set up with recycled furniture. In summer you can rest, have lunch, socialize and protect from the sun, while during the winter they suffer a despoliation of functional and decorative elements by the storms that unveil their basic structure. The simplicity of the constructions, the isolation and the neutrality of the background, make them an ideal case study to analyse the minimal and irreducible elements of the architecture. Italian photographer Fulvio Orsenigo was born in Milan in 1961. In 1992 he moves to Venice where he still lives and works. His interest in landscape and architecture dates back to adolescence, when he wandered through his hometown just for the pure pleasure of looking. Always interested in the deep structures that underlie the forms, he sees in the photographic medium the tool to investigate the perceptive processes that shape our world, no matter if it is natural or artificial, and to measure the discrepancy between what we actually see and what we think we are seeing. He works with both analogue and digital photography and recognizes the work of Kazmir Malevic and Anselm Kiefer as a fundamental reference in the development of his artistic vision. Orsenigo has exhibited in important institutions including The Biennale of Venice (1997, 2016), the Triennale of Milano (2011), the Palazzo Ducale in Venice (2012), the CCA in Montreal (1998) and the Museum of Palazzo Fortuny in Venice (2004)
