About The Artwork
Pangong Tso is the highest salt water lake in the world. Situated at an altitude of 14270 ft and approximately 150 km long it is divided along its entire length by Indo-China border. On the right side are Indian Himalayas and the left side belongs to china. Generally a peaceful region, it gets disturbed at times due to political and military tension between the two nations. Due to high altitude, this place is accessible only for a couple of months in a year. You have to cross some of the highest motor able roads in the world to reach here. Also behind me is an area of landmines covered by barbed wires. This image holds a special importance for me as going there was probably once in a lifetime experience.
