Acknowledged Embrace Photograph

I am a self-taught nature photographer and mixed media visual artist. My work involves fusing together traditional (photography,painting, sketching) and digital (digital drawing, graphic design,printing and scanning) techniques. This process consists of multiple steps of deconstructing and then reassembling personal source material and found objects (torn posters, vintage/antique papers) to compose and construct one-of-a-kind mixed media collage/abstract themed pieces. This also allows me to cut down on raw waste materials. I enjoy mixing different techniques, styles and combinations of varied textures, elements, and brushstrokes - sometimes coarse, textured, and uneven or smooth and definite. My work is driven and inspired by textures, discarded objects, the unordinary and ordinary in nature and humanity, landscapes, music, street art and architecture. Something deep in my soul stirs when I create a new piece of work, keeping me motivated and quieting the restlessness of revolving ideas. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them; to see beyond the distraction of the conspicuous and to discover beauty in a combination of elements and everyday life.
