About The Artwork

On Safari in Kenya, visiting the orphaned elephants in their various stages of re-integration after being rescued by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, here we are at Sunset in Tsavo. This is one of the camps where the orphans go when they leave the orphanage in Nairobi. Here they learn to live in their 'new family groups'. Being such incredibly social animals, and often so traumatized by the tragic poaching of their mother and aunts, and often their brothers as well, they have to re-learn what it means to be part of a group. I have been working to help save the elephants since 2013, and I donate part of my proceeds every year to this and several other non-profits dedicated to the safety and protection of this magnificent species, who, tragically, are on the verge of extinction.

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My collection of photographs span the last 15 years. Some of them are film and some digital. They are all giclee prints on archival papers and professionally framed. A portion of the proceeds on all my photography, whether portraits, events and weddings, or fine art photos is donated to several non-profit organizations that work to save the elephants from extinction, and rescue those who have been left as orphans or injured themselves by the cruel act of poaching for the sale of the illegal ivory. Over 100 elephants are killed every day and at the current rate they may be extinct in the next decade. How sad to think that your grandchildren may only know of these magnificent creatures in picture books. The United States in the 2nd largest importer of illegal ivory in the world, behind China. And the sale of illegal wildlife remains is the 4th largest international crime, behind human trafficking, drugs, and guns. If you want to know how you can do more to help save this beautiful species of animals, please contact me at either bigshotsbycindy@gmail.com or elephantsmatter@gmail.com.
