BEACH-3 - Limited Edition 1 of 50 Photograph

I was born and raised in Rugby, Warwickshire, and began to draw in infancy. I’m still drawing. Still creating. ART is my LIFE. A serious artist pays a high price for the privilege of this state of mind , which is essential to the process. My eyes see. My brain responds and interprets, and my hands begin. It is real-ised. Educated at a girl’s school, then at De Montfort University, I gained a 1:1 in Fine Art, (Sculpture), in 1979. Married, with a son, and living in Cambridge, (after studying and completing an M.A in Social Sciences), my Art career began in earnest. I started teaching & lecturing, beginning with Adult Education, via secondary schools, through workshops at Kettle’s Yard, (the University Gallery), and ending as Head of Art at an International College - and an a art lecturer on an American Program - based at the University of Cambridge. All of this taking place at the same time as a very creative period with my own work and exhibiting widely. It was hard work. Then - I packed it all in. After a year living on the Mediterranean, we returned to the Kent coast, which has been inspiring. Photography is a medium I have always loved. It provides a way for me to experiment with light, texture, form & colour. It has enabled my experimental interests -fostering a long-held obsession with ‘my’ three ‘S’.s - Serendipity, Synchronicity & Simulacra. A ‘froth’ of atoms. Microcosm & Macrocosm. (A work of art must work upon close inspection, and also from a distance). My Metaphysical/Alchemical concoctions, colour, light, love & beauty back into the world.
