BEAR CREEK OASIS Photograph

I have been making art in one form or another since I was very young, and it has remained a lifelong fascination for me. My work is in hundreds of art collections in the US, Canada, Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and China. My images have been licensed by the World Health Organization, the Veterans Administration, resort hotels, and many interior designers. Although I attended an art school in California, I consider myself to be mostly self-taught. The majority of my working career has been spent in the art world, but not primarily as a professional artist. For the past 35 years I have been a consultant specializing in career development and marketing strategies for artists, arts organizations, fine art photographers, and boutique film companies. At any one time I am usually working with 6-8 artists and photographers, spread out from Hawaii to the east coast. I find that this is a rewarding endeavor, and that it not only gives me the opportunity to work with gifted emerging artists, but also keeps my own creative sense fresh and moving forward. For me, making art is a personal form of meditation. It allows me to step outside of the world for a short while, to stop the passage of time and become completely immersed in the creative process. I have an art studio at my home, and besides paintings, mixed media, and drawings, I also enjoy making photographs and constructing assemblage pieces from various found objects.
