ABOUT THE ARTWORK

For me, Venice is like no place on Earth. I love the notion of hopping on and off the vaporetto to get around. I love the confusing maze of alleyways linking different sections of the city. I love the historic feel in every inch of pavement, in every building, every doorway, every stone. There's a richness and an earthiness and there's also this notion that it was once the center of the trading universe in Europe. I read The Merchant of Venice in college. I came to Venice with my then-girlfriend, now my wife, and later with my son, and I wish I could make it an annual trek, that's how much marvelous photo opportunities lurk around every corner -- that's how much interesting stuff can be found down every alleyway. Back in 2005, I made a bunch of photographs there that I'm not just revisiting and I've got this small, but vibrant, print of the iconic 1600s church domes of Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. I knew I'd made a ton of photos of the basilica under the moon and stars amid the cover of darkness on the Grand Canal. I'd forgotten that I'd also made a bunch of photos of her in late afternoon. Here's one of my favorite prints, a Limited Edition offering, numbered and signed, on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta, measuring 13.5 x 10 -- or 15.1 x 11.6 with borders . . .

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I'm a national award-winning journalist and nine-time Pulitzer nominee who's made hundreds of TV and radio appearances, including NPR and Good Morning America. Author of Swee'pea [Simon & Schuster / Atria], a critically acclaimed book centered around New York City playground basketball legend Lloyd (Swee'pea) Daniels, I've been featured in several documentary films -- including the Emmy Award-winning ESPN 30-for-30 Big Shot. While I've worked primarily as a sports reporter, news reporter, columnist and investigative journalist, I've also done travel writing and photography during a four-decade career at a major New York daily paper, and I'm currently shopping my first novel. This marks my first foray into selling my fine art photography . . . P.S. I've noticed that when it comes to calling up full screen versions of some photos they appear to lack clarity. PLEASE use the "Original" file -- especially, when you're looking at Open Edition prints -- because those files appear to be proper large-scale renditions. Hoping this gets rectified . . .
